1957-6 Brian studied Fine Art & Design at Brighton College of Art, where he learnt the skill of Etching under Raymond Cowern RA RE.

1961-63  Scholarship to continue his studies at the Royal College of Art.

1964 –66  Visiting tutor in Art & Design at Harrow and Wimbledon schools of Art.

1964-90  Free-lance design consultant and illustrator, working for many large companies including Shell International . Amongst the many commissions for Shell, were a series of prestige calendars for the Petroleum Development Company of Oman, depicting historic buildings and sites in The Sultanate of Oman, involving many visits to the country over a period of five years. In 1985 Brian visited Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, to make a series of drawings of the old walled city. which were presented to Saudi Ministers and to HRH Prince of Wales during his Royal visit to open the British Trade  exhibition in Jeddah.

1975 Made a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers.

Visiting tutor  in drawing and painting  at West Dean College 1985- 98

Chairman of the Ditchling Handworkers Guild  2004-2012

He has work in private collections throughout the UK, the Middle East, Europe, Australia, United States and Japan.

He has exhibited in London at the Royal Academy Summer exhibition, the Mall Galleries, New Grafton Gallery, Llewellyn Gallery, and  Eastern Rooms Rye. He is a regular exhibitor at Paddon  Contemporary Art in Eastbourne, and with the Sussex Guild at exhibitions throughout Sussex.
